Today was the start of our cycling adventure! We checked out nice and early and left our luggage at our hotel. As well as providing the bikes and the suggested route to follow, one of the others services Eurobike provide is transferring your luggage between all of the hotels you are staying at, so you only need to take what you need for the day’s cycling on the bikes. It worked very well and our cases were always waiting for us when we arrived at the next hotel each evening.
The route started nice and easy, following the large river out of Salzburg towards Oberndorf bei Salzburg. Along the way we went for a walk around the lake of a nature reserve.
Once in Oberndorf, we were able to pop over the river into Germany before vising the Silent Night Chapel.
The route then left the town and took us through lots of rolling green hills and countryside. There were some fairly long climbs towards the end of the cycle, but the e-bikes helped make these nice and easy! We’d been fairly conservative with how much we’d used the assist during the earlier parts of the day, knowing we had the hills at the end and not wanting to risk running out of battery. We needn’t have worried though, we got to our hotel with 50% battery left! Least we knew for future days we could just leave the assist on all the time and have plenty of battery to see us through
